John F Kitime is a Tanzanian who has been a teacher, a musician, an actor, an auto mechanic, and many other things. Here are some of his many activities. Has been a musician in a number of bands since the 70s including, Iringa Jazz Band, the Oshekas, Orchestra Mambo Bado, Orchestra TX Seleleka, Orchestra Makassy, Tancut Almasi Orchestra, Vijana Jazz Band, Orchestra Magoma Moto, the Kilimanjaro Band, the Wahenga and the JFK Band.
Has also have been Manager Tanzania Music Project, Chairman Intellectual Property Forum, President Tanzania Musicians Network,
Chairman of The National Anti-Piracy Committee, Member of the Board of the Copyright Society of Tanzania, Director Marimba Studio, Member of the Board of the National Arts Council. Presently is the Director of Kitime Music Museum, collecting and digitizing Tanzania’s music history.
